Department overview

The goal of Physiotherapist directed Exercise program would be to offer pregnant women improved Antenatal fitness and easier pregnancy and delivery.

It is only within the scope of practice of physiotherapist to properly assess, treat and educate pregnant women in effective and safe exercise that have been shown to decrease or eliminate back pain, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence through their pregnancy.

Patients with high risk pregnancy, private sessions of physiotherapy exercise under strict observation can also be helped for back pain or pelvic pain.

This type of exercise help the pregnant to maintain Normal posture, strength flexibility and pain free pregnancy. It also helps to have proper fitness after hysterectomy and penimenopausal women. Physiotherapy during pregnancy & after delivery helps to maintain facilitates Normal Delivery. It also helps regain normal strength, shape & tone of the body (and in maintain good posture while feeding.) Physiotherapy also keeps to ease the pain during labour Physiotherapy prevents joint pain, unnecessary weight gain &post delivery feeding complications.
